I can pretty strongly say this is one of my proudest works. Also, one of the most challenging.
I tried to use as many references as I could to get the lighting correct with the cold fog. The elk and trees and the like came out just fabulously as I was painting! It was the wolf that gave me the most trouble in this piece.
I'm still not convinced he fits perfectly well in the scenery. The lighting on and around him don't quite match up, but that's just nit picking.
In the end, I am very happy with this one, and I just love the fluff in the wolf's neck!
