A rample/rant ahead...some swearing, you've been all warned.

A side profile drawing of the Dallara DW12, the current spec car of choice in the Indycar series, although that being said, while all teams run identical chassis, each individual car is a unique machine onto itself.

I've been interested in this car and had shown excitement in Indycar having Lotus and Chevrolet returning to join Honda in 2012, although I decided then I'd wait until 2012 to actually start watching more...though some names and places and events I still watched.

...I suppose that's why 3 years later I'm still gutted as fuck over Dan Wheldon's passing one sunday october 16, 2011...

to say nothing of the firestorm over it all, anger, sadness, and so forth...not to mention how some felt that it was due to such an accident at Vegas that somehow motor racing as a WHOLE had to be canceled...to which I felt was totally un-necessary to put it lighlty.

And then we get into other things including how for some, Indycar was far too dangerous...particuarlly by some fans of Formula 1...

I had a long winded rant in response but I'm not going to say it here...

I will say this much, while not perfect, the DW12 has been a far safer machine, although not without flaws that can only hopefully be ironed out with time. Although a car itself can only do so much as everything else need be up to date as well.

Anyone who says Indycar is dangerous..I'm sure I'd be a douchebag to bring up Allen Simosen or even Jules bianchi as a counter-point, and I'm never going to...

There will always be need for improvement, and while some incidents may be foreeable a mile away, others not so much. I only just hope people learn from this and actually fucking apply said knowledge so people need not suffer or die.

and if anyone calls today's racers 'wimps' comapred to racers of the past...well be glad it's behind a monitor, I may just not have much restraint if it was said to my face.
