(Story by Koviell Sashermasock)
"Without the right tools, it can take weeks, even months to dig up a hole in the rocks." Tells Leena.
"Unless we could manage to blast a hole in it. Soala, you're a sorcerer. Could you do that?" Asks Arkum.
"I'm not sure; my powers aren't as effective as the other sorcerers."
"You could always try. I'm sure you can do it." Tells Leena.
"Okay…"
I walk to the entry to the second tunnel. There is a big pile of stone covering it since the entrance collapsed. Let's see if this will work. I evoke the draconic word for thunder and we hear a very loud sound; like if lightning had stuck something nearby. The ground shakes and a few pebbles fall from the pile of rocks. I think there are cracks in some of the stones.
"It didn't work, I guess."
"Yes, it did work. Now my ears hurt!" Shouts Leena.
"Calm down! He tried what he could." Returns Arkum.
"In fact, you gave me an idea." Expresses Bishop.
"I did?"
"Yes. I think I could make us a path." Announces Bishop.
"Are you a sorcerer?" Asks Arkum.
"No no no, I'm not a sorcerer. I practice something else." Confesses Bishop.
He takes out a book that was hidden under his clothes. The Tome looks a bit old.
"Ooohh, you're a wizard."
"Well… we can say that. I'll need you to pour water on the rocks; lots and lots of water on it. If everything goes as planned, there will be a new entrance. Trust me." Explains Bishop.
We take out all pots and containers we had in our bag. Then, we make a chain to bring water over the rocks blocking the way. This wasn't very pleasant. After a while, Bishop tells us that it should be enough.
He opens up his book and start mumbling something in a language I don't understand. At the end of his incantation, a fine layer of frost spreads on the ground, to the rocks. The water was turning into ice. We can hear the rocks crack as the ice is taking expansion.
"It's ready. Use your spell again Soala." Incites Bishop.
I look at the stone and ice pile. I evoke the draconic word for thunder and we hear the same loud noise. The stone and the ice cracks and fall in little pieces, leaving a path open. It worked this time.
"Marvellous. You did it Soala!" Rejoices Arkum.
"With the help of Bishop, don't forget him."
Suddenly, the tunnel starts shaking. We hear the rocks crack and a few pebbles are dropping.
"This doesn't look good." Points Bishop.
"We better get in before it's too late."
"What about the beast we hunted?" Wonders Leena.
"We will find another one!"
We rush to the entrance and jump into it. We made it in time; the newly created entrance collapses. A huge pile of rocks covers the entrance.
"At least now we're no longer trapped inside, now." States Arkum.
"We should find somewhere safe to rest before we go further."
"Maybe not directly here, the ceiling could collapse near the entrance." Tells Leena.
"Good point, let's move on a bit." Suggests Arkum.
We walk further in the tunnel until we settle down for another night underground. I can't wait to sleep in a bed once again.
