Part 1 of my diptych for my art class. This is Adramelech Delphinium Elatum Mandrake or “Adem” for short. He is Dante Mandrake’s older brother. Yes, it’s been a long time since I last drew him and in character. I have redesigned his outfit again.

Yeah, I know. I've always put my drawings under that category anyway because I never knew anyone who told me it didn't have some of the qualities. But yeah, I get what you're saying. I like the designs of the effeminate characters that Japanese animation has. Dexter's Laboratory even made a joke about them in that one episode with this demon lord guy "Hokcochoo" or something and I think I subconsciously got this outfit idea from him and other similar characters.

tbh, it's not that "anime" more of a typical buff character of a more "realistic" cartoon style... i think it's more of the design or outfit that makes it "anime"
though, people will compare anything to anime nowadays.. as if it's a bad thing... even if it's a vague comparison.. but your style can be considered anime and non anime, imo
