Sorry for the delay getting back to some of you. Meet one of the two main reasons: Pippin! Our household is home to several small rescues, and Pippin has been living with us for three years. Lately she went off her feed, and last week while getting her teeth brushed it was noticed that her gums were bone white.

Long story short, she has an Infection Of Unknown Origin, so she's on special food and steroids and antibiotics, and goes in for a daily blood test to check her numbers -- hopefully to keep her from needing a blood transfusion. Wish us luck!
