Unfortunately, yes. It was Saturday night at about 1:30AM. We had to evacuate over 5000 people to the rosemont convention center while a hazmat team controlled the chemical.

It could have been, if enough time passed. I believe the intention of the plan was to attack while most were asleep. IT was poorly thought through, as most large places such as an upscale hotel have very sensitive alarms for chemicals like chlorine. 19 people were sent to the hospital, but I believe most of them have been released now. We're so blessed it wasn't any worse than what we endured. The hotel was decontaminated by 4:00AM and I woke up and walked back around 6.

It was, but my fiance kept me safe and level headed through the whole incident. ^^ Don't let this turn you off from going to conventions, this is the first time this has happened, and I doubt someone could actually pull it off.

oh don't worry, I'm still going! I plan on going to anthrocon next year if I can gain the courage to tell my parents I'm a furry! :P I'm only 15 and my dad is a pastor and I don't know what he knows about furries but I'm just worried he'll think lesser of me. he called me unmanly for being a brony so that's kind of my basis for my worries. although he is a really great guy and a wonderful dad, I just don't want him to judge me on this subject

Awe, I know how hard that can be! Be brave, it's not as bad as it sounds. I'm sure your parents love you a lot and will come around to the idea. :) My dad loves furries after he saw the suits we could build! I'd love to go to anthrocon if I can come up with the cash.
