I drew this the day one of Space Gypsy's contributor's passed away last week.
Chris Grantham was a friend of a friend that I knew through Facebook, but in time I might well have got to meet him and get to know him better than I did. He was the bassist in the session band responsible for our spin off project Fluff Catt & The Rock Kittens. Though he didn't get involved with the band until after the release of the album 'When Will You Be Mine?', he did record and co-write some material during the last few months. Aside from this he also was heavily involved in Space Gypsy, acting in character as Damien Mildury on Facebook and recording several variations of Fluff Catt songs. He was always supportive of our other work too, including the pictures I provided.
He died suddenly during a dance rehearsal for a Michael Jackson stage show. It turned out he had a heart attack as a result of an undiagnosed coronary heart defect. He was just 19 years old, and to be honest I found that heartbreaking.
See you in Eschaton someday Chris, but hopefully not too soon. I'm sorry I never got to know you better than I did. Forever young, gone but not forgotten.

Technically I wasn't bandmates with him because I wasn't a member of the band. I just did the art for the album and singles. ^^ Doesn't make it less tragic though. If anything I've been robbed of the chance to collaborate with him more than I did.
However I have experienced the loss of a bandmate before. My first band's first drummer died a few years ago of a brain tumour. He was 23. I wasn't close to him by that point but it was still a very unpleasant shock :(
Thanks for commenting btw. I've had a very positive response from this picture.
