Tonight, my tablet died in the middle of stream. I broke out the backup I've got, but it's barely serviceable and has problems of it's own, but will work to get me through the week.
I hate doing this, but I'm looking for donations to help replace the dead tablet. Anything you can offer will help get closer to the goal of a new tablet. I'm not looking for a Cintiq or anything like that, or a gigantic Wacom, or anything like that, just something that will hold strong and do it's job for the foreseeable future, unlike this last one that only lasted about six months, or the one before that did the same.
If you'd like to donate, comment on this posting and I'll note you my information. Again, any donation is helpful and all are appreciated.
Thank you all for reading this.

I've heard good things and had good results with the MonoPrice Tablets.

However the last time I bought one was 3-4 yrs ago, and at the time there were a couple draw backs
- Pain in the ass to install, but once running it works fine
- Pen takes batteries.

Don't do it!
Seriously... I dropped $100 with shipping for monoprice and after months of trying to get the really horrible software to work (which some people never, ever get to work) i found out that the connection was just broken on mine after getting working firmware from a friend who -did- have luck with it. I'd check out the Monoprice help page for the hundreds of people who never get it to work...
However, if you have tech-savvy people around, i can send you mine for free if you think you can fix the probably power fluctuation problem with the USB connection. it's the epically huge one.

Happened to me when I was using my bamboo for years and I made it to the point it was extremely used. It was in a horrible-looking condition LOL.
I have a tablet to suggest.

I bought this year ago, right before Christmas, simply to replace my good old bamboo. Basically this tablet is a new "bamboo" but they decided to give up on the name and include these to the intuos series. I saw you don't like pens which require a battery, so there we go. Wacom, works without batteries, drivers are working just fine. There was some issue with pen pressure dying off randomly OR with drivers being lost all of the sudden, but there was an update to the driver few months ago and so far I have absolutely no issues. I'm compeltely happy with it and I use it to create all my works.
I think the only issue for you will be the fact it's small. Medium ones are more expensive so for a fast last minute purchasing it might be a bad idea. There's also a cheaper one without touch feature (which in my opinion is completely useless anyway)
Companies you should totally avoid:
Huion (pen pressure works...weird and it's from a chinese company so go figure how much of fun you'll get installing the drivers, pens also have batteries)
Genius (pens with a battery again, big size but the pen pressure works rather unpleasing, you have to press hard to make it work)
Pentagram (never used one but my friends did, none of them was happy, after a while the pen goes totally crazy and it does straight lines, probably as an errr in the working area being broken)

I've used Genius for years and I've never had a problem with the pressure sensitivity. At least, not with the one I have now. The older version had some wonkiness to it, but it was never the pen...it was always the USB connection. But the one I have now is an upgraded design and I've had no problems at all. Maybe it depends on the tablet type or something... :o
I do wish the pen didn't need batteries though.
Also, as to the tablet you linked, I think it's only like the Bamboo in that it's the new kind of "cheap" tablet from Wacom, because according to the specs, it's pretty much like the old Intuos tablets, with twice the pressure levels of what the Bamboo tablets had (new Intuos tablets have 4x the pressure levels of the Bamboo, apparently). Wacom realized that the Bamboo line is obsolete now, I guess? But it's weird they're using the Intuos name for the new most-affordable option, since before they tended to come up with a new name when phasing out the old... At least, they did that when they phased out the Graphire and replaced it with the Bamboo.

Wow. My video card failed a week ago, right after the Black Friday shopping season. I've had to cancel my television and phone services to help pay for it, and now I'm having to do things like take charity cards back to the places I got them from because I can no longer afford gifts this year within the time frame they're asking for. I definitely feel your pain. Was actually thinking of taking writing commissions to help cover for it, but I doubt anyone would bite.
