A member of the Ka'avonek species (a closed species made by myself, 
Scintelle, and 
wolfmemories), Frie is one of the mostly aquatic mammal-like creatures that inhabit the waters around the lands of FeralHeart, and sometimes venture onto the land for brief periods of time. She gets her design from her life-long companion, Eeloo, an oarfish.
Since oarfish are known as the "King of Herrings," this is where the title of this piece was derived from.
Also, I did this one all digitally, instead of sketching the lines on paper first. So. The fact that it didn't turn into a proportional nightmare makes me happy. c8> AND A BACKGROUND MY GOSH
