Yup, sometimes it does seem that way. Standing in the middle of one of London's busiest tourist spots is a seven foot wolf, yet the only people who notice appear to be two kids - I love the look on the girl's face.
It never ceases to amaze me the ability of adults to 'not notice' something they don't understand - a la The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy's "Somebody Else's Problem Field" ^^

Fleh... yeah, I so totally agree with that, they always tryed to make us believe what was good and what was bad in school and what was true and what wasn't. When I got older I found out that a few things they taught us in school were actually complete lies, espically in history, and I was like wtf??? I never take anyones word for something like that and I always go out and see for myself, it's why I was particularly bad at history in school, I just didn't like it. I don't follow rumors and chatty gossip, if someone tells me someone or something is bad or is a certain way, I don't believe them until I go and find out for myself. I remember one time someone told me to stay away from a particular person becuase they were really bad, come to find out they were actually a really swell person and it was the person who was telling me that they were bad who was the real jerk. x.x;
I don't think it's a uniquely American phenominon - but there's no condioning like that over here. The establishment would go mental if lies were being peddled at schools.
Surely you should just be allowed to make you own minds up, make your own mistakes from time to time, and not be wrapped in a nice conditioned ball of cotton wall, growing up believing the world is fucking flat.

Yep yep! I thank myself for listening to my own heart. It's never done me wrong. Not saying I haven't been hurt or made mistakes, but when I listen to my heart, even those turned out to be both the good and the right thing to have done in the end. I don't feel regretful for any of the choices I've made thus far. ^^ I don't know why America is this way and as much as I hate to say it, I don't like my own country for those things. I'm glad I didn't listen. x.x;

Cracking photo my furriend! Could just see this in the Daily Torygraph...
'Seven Foot tall wolf appears to children at St Paul's. Adults can't see the cuddly lycanthrope, only those with the innocence of children see this vision. Pope declares Miracle. Church of England turns Roman Catholic. Lupine miracle of St Remus with St Romulus Visitor Centre expected to be completed by 2012'.

Everyone DOES notice, they just pretend not to. You know, cause you're a guy walking around in a wolf suit. I guess I shouldn't expect you to understand, since you and most of the comment-givers here seem to suffer from some sort of socialization disorder (or just stupidity).
Congratulations, furfags, you finally broke my spirit. All the free porn in the world isn't worth this shit. I quit.

Hey! I got my first prick comment! I feel honoured :)
You're one of either two things:
a) an idiot who either didn't read my actual post or doesn't understand sarcasm, satire and the use of the inverted comma,
or
b) a prick who's just out to make a bit of a scene, but has just succeeded in making themselves look like a prime time, top of the range wanker.
Actually, I'm guessing you're both, but it's nice to know I've touched your life somewhat - don't let the door hit your arse too hard on the way out :)

Have you actually read that book and know what I'm talking about? Have you also ever experienced the near unique British phenomena of people pretending they don't notice things out of the ordinary - the very thing the book is parodying?
Even so, you still have come off like a rather self-important prick haven't you, quitting FA over comments made by third parties on a third party journal.
My comments about you still stand.

Yes, I read the book, and my point was it wasn't "uniquely British" and they have good reason to do so. You're a weirdo. So yes, I am self-important. I'm not denying anything you say about me. It's probably true. I don't really care. Like you said, I made my big scene and now I'm done. In all my time here I've barely said anything so I felt I could have one minor flame war. I almost want to apologize to you, just so you'll let it go, but I'd at least like to keep some shred of decency. I've already reduced myself to arguing with a guy who walks around in a fucking wolf suit.
I see you've learnt how to use quotes now - shame you've also learnt the ability to mis-quote.
*grins* If it makes you feel better to call me schoolyard names then go for it bud - glad all that power garnered from behind a PC can make you feel important. It does make me grin, however, for someone who bashes off to pictures of anthro animals fucking could possibly label someone who wears a costume from time to time weird, but there you go.
You lost all decency when you decided to pass judgement bud, and believe me, you're the one who's coming out of this looking like an utter fool.

I just had to check this after you text me about it earlier so i got myself out of bed lol XP
Just one thing to say, since you said it all yourself is: "whats the point"? it just wasted peoples time and energy when people go out of their way to have a go at you.
XD ooh and well played hun XP

Furs make me uncomfortable? where did you get that from?
If they made me uncomfortable surley i wouldnt be on FA or UKFur? and i deffinatly wouldnt have the amount of furry friends that i do if they made me uncomfortable. Bit of an odd statement to make that really...
As for normal i have never said i was normal and i tell people i am quite weird quite often so again, bit of an odd statement to make. Espec towards a person who you have never met or spoke to before.

Dear bgx,
You are doing it wrong.
The correct method of trolling this picture is as follows:
"Thank you for exposing the horrible truth. It is shameful that parents take a blind eye to pedophiles in animal costumes. This photograph should win a Pulitzer Prize and be acknowledged as great example of muckraking."
Love,
Xerxes

I'll be honest, I'm really torn. Part of me wants to go, aw, let's hug and forget the whole thing. I don't like being looked down upon and called a troll, even if that was my original intent. And no, I'm not checking this section repeatedly (otherwise I would have said something sooner), I just got some people (O.K., one person) who felt the need to leave a shout on my page over it.
Regardless, I think it would be best for everyone if I continued with my plan to quit FA. Very soon, I will change my password to a string of random letters so I'll never be able to sign in again. Before that though, I have some things I want everyone here to think about. I originally put this on my account page. I can't be bothered to change it so some pronouns and such will be off.
What do you hope to accomplish by provoking me? Haven't you already gotten what you wanted? [me leaving]
Why do you label me? Is it to make you feel better about yourself? Or because it's easier to call someone 'bad', and not think about all the complex aspects of a human being? Do you not want to think about how someone can act one way in some situations (i.e. on the Internet) and differently in others?
Normally, I can tolerate all the stupidity, but someone misrepresented my country, and by extension, my belief system. And someone else was all too eager to believe it, no questions asked.
You could meet me in real life, and you'd have no idea. We could be good friends. I could be your boss, or your employee. I could be your doctor or lawyer. I could be a sports hero or a soldier. Did these things just not occur to you, or are you too scared to accept them?
For all the 'Aspies' out there - and if you're reading this, you probably are one - those were rhetorical questions.
I'm a lot more calm than you are, and that bugs the hell out of you. That's why you're here. [yeah I know this part doesn't make sense if you're not seeing it on my page] You can't shake me. Do your worst. All you'll get out of it is being put on the block list, and maybe a snide remark if you're lucky.

Booorrrring.

Nobody is scared to accept it. We just don't give a shit to start with from some trollfag who felt the need to go bawwww at a picture then cry all the way home about leaving.
If you were going to leave, you could have done so by now. So, one suggests the following selection:
A: You leave, nobody cries and you sit in a pit of self pity.
B: You leave, nobody cries and you learn from this by not continuing to be a generic troll
C: You don't leave, nobody cries, you troll someone else and eventually find someone who gives a shit.
or..
D: You don't leave, nobody cries, and you wake up, realising that it doesn't matter if you're the pope, my boss or David Beckham.. because at the end of the day, you're just as doomed to live in this shit hole of a planet like the rest of us.
If you leave, I seriously hope you enjoy your frivolity :)

We are taught that it's rude to stare as we are going up. You see a person with a deformaty or something out of the ordinary, we will try to do the polite thing and try and pretend that it doesn't exist. I don't know how people with differances really feel about that, but being raised you are taught to treat everyone the same. So really, a person in a wheelchair is the same as a person in a fursuit... kinda. The point of the matter is that people think that it's polite to not talk about either.
lol thanks for posting this on fa its really funny. Troll fail. The pic is sweet though, but are you sure it was in hitchhikers and not Dr Who? coz i remember it in Dr who about the tardis but dont remember reading it in hitch hikers guide, saying that it has been a while since i read it.
It's in book three of hitchhikers :) This is what it says:
"An SEP is something we can't see, or don't see, or our brain doesn't let us see, because we think that it's somebody else's problem.... The brain just edits it out, it's like a blind spot. If you look at it directly you won't see it unless you know precisely what it is. Your only hope is to catch it by surprise out of the corner of your eye. This is because it relies on people's natural predisposition not to see anything they don't want to, weren't expecting, or can't explain."
I think that rather aptly sums up the photo ^^

Very much the truth. I was in New York City last year and a circus was coming through or something and there was an elephant....a friggin elephant there on the streets outside of Madison Square Garden, and all the business men and women were just walking by on their cellphones not even giving it a glance. Machines!!
Seems over there they are more accepting.
Though, if it was a busy place, the people might have had better things to do, but the kids seemed to love you.
Also, the black and whit gives the photo a great touch, considering werevolves were of a long time ago, this seems old fashioned.
