Well, what I can say? When I was a child, like many others, I had a huge love for dinosaurs and when Jurassic Park was released well I really pestered my parents for going and see it. I still remember it, it was during one of our vacation in a mountain place and we went to the local small theater for seeing it. Well actually it was just me, my older sister and my father since my mother absolutely refused to go and see a movie with "horrible hideous monsters" as she defined dinosaurs LOL!
And Jurassic Park was indeed one of the best movies ever made about dinosaurs! It was definitely worth seeing it although some part really scared me at the time!
For some reasons I wanted to try drawing a scene similar to the part in the movie where we see the raptors' eggs hatching.
The newborn raptor in the movie was really cute ... a really sharp contrast with the ferocious deadly killing machine they grow into.
The cuteness of the baby raptors and the ferocious nature of the adults were explained better in the book; the cubs were really cute and lovable but the adults were described as deadly and actually even cruel. They just didn't kill for feeding or self-defense but also just for the pleasure of the kill! however they showed a soft side for their young-lings, although when the cubs started to grow the adults became more strict with them.
The book also inspired me into drawing the raptor, basing myself on the description of the book where they are described as tiger like in colors.
