The grafitti on the other tomb makes this extra wierd...

There was grafitti on many of the graves here, unfortunately.

Unfortunate, yes, but somehow it makes this picture for me. Maybe it's just because I used to read a lot of horror novels, and it gives this peice a ghost story feel. :)

The graffiti on the other tomb wasn't really noticeable until the picture was taken - It was kinda weathered too, but showed up pretty well in the picture.
I guess in a way graffiti is jsut another form of entropy

You're probably right. On that note, I can't see any markings from a knife or tool that was used. Though, it seems odd that the form didn't erode evenly.

If it was vandals then they may have been more likely to desecrate the entire crucifix. Meh, it happens here frequently.

Well, if you wanted to get into the religious sense of things and the symbolic; Jesus died for humanity, and many others throughout time have died for others too.. So perhaps you can say that there represents all that have died for others, being faceless?

awesome composition ... which I can say for most of your pieces. Awesome use of negative space with the dark mass centered in the image, presumably a "crypt" (the actual term escapes me at this moment)?

And I agree with the Louster, the clouds do draw more to the crucifix as the main focal point in the image. Great to see you using more contrast, and the blue tones fit nicely.

Thank you! I didn't take a photo of it, but the bars covering the small mausoleum window were bent to indicate escape (or entry,) stereotypically enough.

Judging from the erosion of the headstone, it happened quite sometime ago. Certainly not recent damage.
