Portrait for
dark_stallion Who let me go a little crazy with the halter. I really love how the silver pieces came out! This is the best muzzle I have ever done. All and all I am still glowing after finishing this!
A great end to my Iron Artist challenge. I got through 40 of the 100 portraits I was aiming for. I'm happy to have gotten through them after a rough patch this year, but at the same time I am really considering bringing the special back in some fashion so I can get through the rest of the challenge. I'm thinking it over still!

I feel like I could reach into the monitor and pet that wonderful nose! This is one of the best blends of more humanistic eyes and expression on an equine face I have ever seen. You have an amazing talent for horses, they have such personality in your art!
And that halter is to die for. I really like it! Great detailing on the silver!

Well by golly you deserve it!!! It is something I see a lot of artists struggle with...lets be honest, horseface plus human expression doesn't always work- I mean, eyeball location alone makes it awkward for some! There's very rarely such a lovely blend and such a believable expression...usually artists fall on one side, or the other.
I'm totally waiting a bit to show some friends before I post the wonderful art you did for me...did you post it to your gallery? I want to +favorite it as well!!!

The eyes are definitely the biggest problem. I go with shrinking the length of the muzzle, bringing the eyes more to the front and the ears closer to the eyes.
I haven't posted it yet! I definitely will soon, I'm sitting on a huge backlog of stuff to post and have been trying to spread it out rather than kill people's inboxes :) Actually, I will sneak it into my posts for the day, It will be up in a moment

Wonderful!!!! I'm so pleased! I'll wait a day or three before I post it to my gallery, so you hopefully take the lion's share of views and faves!
And wow, that's an awesome formula for making some excellent antho horses...now that you mention it, I can really "see" it. That's so cool!!!
