It is said that the first Chinese emperor Fu Xi was once approached by the golden dragon Huang-Long on the banks of the yellow river. Huang-Long gave to him the gift of writing for which Fu Xi used to discover the compass and the set square, he is also said to have invented fishing nets and the Guqin a seven stringed musical instrument. Fu Xi is often depicted with turtles as he is reputed that he used the lines on their shells in order to develop the eight trigrams, the basis of Feng-Shui.
