Can I say one thing? SAP.
Stick a spigot in me and draw off maple syrup. I might be demonspawn, but I can be a sucker for cuteness. So here is a sweet, adorable scene of a vampire tickling a werewolf . . . oh god, I think I need to kill myself . . . yah, if it were me though, I wouldn't torment anything strong enough to twist my head off like a bottlecap.
So yes, another Simon and James picture. I enjoy drawing them. The first book, the main character was stressed and freaked out the whole time, but in the second it's a little more lighthearted. There's still blood and guts and sturm und drang but then there's this totally goopey undead gender-bending Romeo & Juliet thing driving the plot.
Actually I like romance best when it manages to sprout amid gore and decapitations and eviscerations and screaming and such. Point of fact, my favorite romance movies are Re-Animator (I swear, there is romance there! Or at least a warped reproductive instinct) and A Very Long Engagement in which the male lead goes insane after the guy laying beside him is hit by a missle and reduced to a fine red jelly splattered all over our hero, including chunks in his mouth. Heh.
As for art notes, this began with me scanning a stupid sketch so I'd have something to experiment with a different way of drawing fur and it just kind of went nuts from there. At least it's more obvious in this one that Simon isn't 100% USDA prime human.
Also took the opportunity to experiment with the color of James' fur. I'd been painting it a flat, dark brown but since my werewolves aren't lupine, I thought it would be fun to experiment with patterns. I think I've got it where I like it - believe it or not, it's based on my kitten, Minuit.
Oh yeah, and the critter on Simon's shirt is by

There was certainly more angst - poor Herbert, skulking around the hallway while Dan got it on with that ugly italian chick. And Dan had the whole pirate shirt/Fabio hair thing going.
Aw hell, I love both movies, I practically count them together as one (not that poisonous abortion that was Beyond, tho)

I waited thirteen years for Beyond, and there was hardly any Herbert in it !!!! BASTARDS!
Hopefully they'll scrape together enough to make House of Re-Animator, which I keep hearing about. Or hell, I have a couple ideas for scripts and I would GIVE them away to see another Re-A made. I love those movies. I gotta upload the photo of me hugging the shit out of Jeffrey Combs at Horrorfind.

O.o Wow...Simon is brave...XD. Awesome job on the fur , it's got this awesome movement and texture and stuff goin' for it. XD. You usually do awesome textures for fur/skin so I usually don't wanna mention it for fear of being really annoying and repetitive but you've really out-done your self this time.
