Gumdrop 10000 draft
This is NOT my entry...not yet but I wanted to show something of what I'm trying to make.
Specifically a Mid engined buggy of sorts for off-road, although my main issue is making it somewhat believable and also mechanically accurate (although I should not go overboard given not everybody is a gear head).
This in spite of what I want to implement but I think I'm going to stick to what I know and what I can figure.
So here's what I have so far far as some stats go...
As of now it's a mid engine, rear wheel drive rally raid T1/Open based prototype/SCORE trophy truck. The main chassis is a tubular space frame, akin again like a rally raid 1 vehicle, although I went an extra mile for a carbon fiber tub for the driver and passenger (Taking a cue from DTM) for added safety measure.
The overall chassis is meant for offload, although lack of power to the front wheels means caution will be given for say, climbing bumpy/rocky mountains to be frank.
I wanted to also make use of electric motors, to make it partially a hybrid but until I can properly do that, I'm sticking to it being solely powered by a gasoline/bio fuel engine.
I came up with the engine stats, partially by what I've observed/researched with RL engines, and also by messing around with a work in progress title by the name of Automation, which is a car tycoon game.
In spite of how even the developers admitted that the push rods in that game can't be up to the scale of anything else (OHC, SOHC, DOHC), I was able to come up with the following statistics.
Engine:
8000cc OHV DI 16v Cross plane
Power: 450+bhp @ 6000rpm
Torque: 600+ 2600rpm
Redline: 6500rpm
Fuel: 95aki super unleaded/E85 biofuel, either one will work.
Weight: 430lbs including intake, exhaust, muffler, and catalytic converters.
And...I'd ramble more but given it's late, maybe if/when I get to a more final product...in less than a week from now.
Here's hoping life dosen't fuck me over...we'll see.
