Kalishta's story(Shorter version):
Her breathing was shallow, but steady.. as they worked on her. Her eyes open, but clouded. She felt dizzy and sleepy all at the same time, as these creatures unknown to her worked on her. They took her blood, took pictures. Her eyes watched as they attached things to her, unable to move.. or get away from them.. the sleep still holding her. When she moved, they put something over her eyes.. she was now blind to darkness. Poking and prodding her they worked, she was scared.
In her home here in Africa, there are lots of different animals. This is the story of Kalishta, a civet.. and a different one at that. Normally, they are dark in colour.. but she, was white with cream markings. That may be why these creatures want to poke her, to take pictures of her. She is different, much different.
Kali's heartbeat became faster, harder.. as the creatures removed the blanket from her vision, allowing her to see again. She could start to feel things normally again. She was waking up. Blinking her eyes, she looked around, the creatures were farther back now, no longer taking her picture, but still had something with them.. pointing towards her. After a few moments she stood up, wobbly.. trying to get her footing as she had been sleeping for a time now, but the dizziness was still there, which made it hard for her to stand. She braced her feet to the ground, holding herself steady for a minute or so, before opening her eyes fully. Her green orbs looked over to the creatures, they were smiling. Kali looked around her, nothing seemed to be different. She took a few more moments of just standing still, getting her barings before bolting into the neatest bush.. away from the creatures who had made her feel so different.
