Oh gosh, what a twist! I didn't expect that ending at all. XD

I feel so bad but I'm laughing so hard oh my god. I actually had something similar happen to me as a kid--I was probably like 11 at the time. One of my cousin's parents has a made-made pond in their front yard, and they even put fish in it. As a result, there are a lot of frogs, toads, birds, bugs, etc around the general area, and there was a pretty deep puddle one spring that was full of tadpoles. We kept some pretty close tabs on them, watching them grow, and we thought it was so cool (because it was). When they finally became little teeny frogs, they still kinda hung out around that same puddle, so we collected quite a few of them to put into the pond. Almost immediately after they got into the water, the fish ate all of them. We felt really bad at the time, but in retrospect, it's hilarious. Childhood wonder and innocence is so easily crushed by the sheer unforgiving weight of reality.
