I have a scanner again! Here, have a dragon.
After much deliberation I went for an Epson V37. Which turned up making a distressing rattling noise and had a flashing orange 'error' light on. Good job I bought through Amazon so I had different, working one two days later.
It's a bit better than my old Lide35. Still doesn't seem to enjoy red. Really I wanted to try an HP Scanjet with the 6-colour scanning but they don't seem to do them any more. Ah, well, can't catch a boat I missed.
