Description:
Noik may be of average height for a kobold and be from the populous Water Snake clan who make their home along the verdant banks of the hidden life river. But his scales set him apart from his clanmates being a dark, navy blue colour across the majority of his body and.pitch black.down the length of his chest and stomach.

His tail is also longer, thinner then the average 'bold and his eyes are a piercing shade of purple. His head is adorned by two long black horn that form the main structure to the distinct, sea creature like frills of horn and blue, scaled membrane that adorn the top of his head.

For clothing he dresses in dark, functional leather trousers, well worn and soft so they no longer squeak. Over his torso he wears a black, sleeveless vest of leather and ebony fur that is laced up at either side with supple rawhide thongs.

About his neck he keeps a small, black velvet pouch on a leather cord. It is usually tucked under his vest and holds a.flat, stone disc. Around his left arm he wears a long sheath that runs from wrist to elbow and contains a set of throwing knives, his lockpicks and quite often a small vial of mild poison.

Often when out in public he wears a dark hooded cloak though when on a job he is likely to leave this behind.

History/Concept:

Noik hails from the Water Snake clan, a large clan of kobolds who live in a large chasm beneath the vaulted mountains. Flowing through this miles long chasm is a vast underground river and it is along this bountiful resources his clan have made their home and prospered.

Illuminated by large enchanted crystals in the roof and public spaces of their larger towns the clan make their way through fishing, harvesting, mining and trade with nearby dwarf and gnoll settlements.

Noik himself is different from his clan mates. His scales are darker then theirs and he's a natural born Sorcerer. His family strove to keep his magical talents a secret but their attempts to raise him in the "traditional family business of fishing failed. For Noik the art of the thief, the silent hunter in the darkness for wealth appealed.

Falling in with the seedier crowds in the less salubrious neighbourhoods the young kobold pushed his natural sorcerers talents in directions that suited stealth and thievery. Running as a look out and spotter for a local gang he picked up a smattering of useful skills before wrangling himself an apprenticeship with the thieves guild.

Walking out on his family after they yet again tried to force him down a more socially accepted route he moved into the guild.

That's where his story now starts, he has much to learn and prove to his new "family" but the guild is willing to train and guide this young thief. They can see the potential in having a sorcerer rogue amongst their numbers. It's a specialist class, combining the arts of larceny and stealth with the skill and power if a sorcerer but one that Noik is eager to explore and the guild to utilise.
