This is 100 x 160 cm oil painting on stretched linen canvas. Lion found a place to grind his nails and enjoys the process :) . I added a moderate african landscape in the upper right corner with air perspective.
I used following paints for this painting:
Nicosia green Earth (Natural pigments) is used for grass and mainly it played in background tree hills.
Violet hematite is used to chill shadows on the lion and tree.
Lead tin-yellow as a major bright-warm old color is used in lights.
Different ochers and transparent mummy.
Some guttegom transparent lak ( Old Holland) in the grass.
