The Hagglund Class Light Cruiser is based in part on the Yorktown Sub-Class of the Constitution refit. A number of original Constitution Class engineering hulls had been set aside as the vessels had been overhauled. A number of those discarded hulls were then upgraded and put to use in this light cruiser design. The Hagglund is much smaller then the Constitution refits.
