In general, I really like all teh sketches - the sketchiness in the artistic sense, that even as (or especially as?) thumbnails they are clear and well-defined, just not refined. But that's the base to work on! (I don't have that base. have that base. have that base...)

I got a tiny sketchbook, smaller than my phone, and started drawing in it in pen. The idea being that it's both below a size I consider comfortable or real, and the pen would make erasing impossible. I don't know how much it's helped, but the sense that I'll have to live with whatever and it's too small to care about, has allowed some experimentation.
