Halfway out of the torrid desert, past Saltloch, still before the mountains of the lakelands, in the middle of the golden grass, a white figure imerges in the distance, curiosity getting the better of the naive young man, he aproaches it, to be greeted, by an old lady, surprised by the visit, her accent and manners betray her, quite obviously someone who decided to settle here, escaped from Eldflume in the far south.
A morning well spent indeed, her husband joins us in our conversations, i exchange some carved stones with them for some fruit, but even so this pleasent couple would not see me leave without at least fifteen kilos of sweets fruit and water with me.
Can't really complain though, their berries were delicious!

It starts by being fun, after a while you become extremely lonely, somewhat paranoid, but this eventually passes, the days feel longer and longer, your passing slows down and things start to speak to you in an odd way, you start focusing on whats behind everything in the landscape, like you can see the trees growing and the rocks turning to sand, it's pretty amazing. It forces you to overlook time, lose yourself in the landscape.
I just looked up that place on Wikipedia, and it seems to be quite an interesting place. The vegetation, while more lush and consisted of different species, resembles the scrublands and cedar forests in Atlas Mountains quite a lot.
Now that I don't have much time left to spend in Morocco, I am starting to regret that I never managed to go trekking on the Atlas Mountains, especially Mt. Toubkal, or visit the Sahara.... though I suppose that’s as pointless as crying over spilt water. I just hope I would be able to get another chance to visit Morocco, and if possible, Iberian Peninsula as well.

It's a different ecosystem entirely from the rest of my country, it was quite interesting to visit it, don't let the sun fool you, it's freezing cold.
I've always wanted to go to Toubkal, actually, you were still lucky to have so much time to spend in morrocco, and if you ever do drop by the peninsula, by then ill be more mobile, i'd love to adventure a bit with you if you're up to it.
