Nah not mean. If you've ever been in the forces, you'll realise theres a lot of...errr...friendly messing around. I can tell you sooo many stories of my dad and things him and his squad used to get up to :D This is nothing compared to what him and his friends used to do
It's all okay, honest. Star gives just as good as se gets, and maybe this prank will help teach her to...
A. Not come in late to work then...
B. try to palm her punishment off on someone else then...
C. Dont bet on things you cant afford to lose.
All good lessons to learn

Practical jokes are one thing..but setting up and cheating your teammates and colleagues? That's just not on. Maybe Star does have a few lessons to learn if she says so herself..but Yuri could do with learning a few things about winning fair and square. If she has to cheat, maybe she shouldn't bet on things she cant afford to lose. Food for thought.
I'd hate to say it, but I think it's time I said it.
I have been following these comics for quite some time, but I've noticed that most of the characters are just assholes for no reason. They always seem to team up against the main character. Even in Found, this seemed to be the theme.
Star is gullible, but at the same time, is this really needed? The characters are unlikable and come off as mean spirited, rather then it being all in good fun. I remember watching cartoons back in the day that had characters who would do the exact same thing to the main characters just to be dicks. Besides the AB couple, it seems that Star really doesn't have anyone else. Everyone seems against her.
Mean spirited isn't funny, rarely does it get executed well.

I certainly know in the forces (certainly in my dads squad) we're always doing incredibly dangerous and mean things to one another and it would just escalate and escalate and would get really out of hand, but no one ever fell out with each other they just found bigger and better ways of getting revenge on each other...but thats the paras for you i guess, they were complete madmen
I really think that's all armed forces, around the world. XD They ALWAYS mess with each other and then it's the victims turn to 'one up' the pranksters.
This is the kind of stuff that when they're all old and gray they'll sit around giggling about going "Hey, you guys remember that time you tricked me into kissing Alice? HAHAHA! I WAS SO MAD."
My own dad has some hilarious stories about the Army. Like the one guy who refused to take a bath because he wanted to get thrown out of the military. The rest of the group 'kidnapped' him and forcibly bathed him with toilet brushes and scrubbers.

Oooh interesting! I don't understand the comments about horrible/unlikeable people. This would be a pretty dull comic without pranksters, and we always need some drama in a comic - and that means having a few "meanies".
We have our pranksters in engineering too, and usually I end up as the gullible one (the last one was believing one of our ex-army guys worked on some high-level/spy stuff, and has a knighthood from it, and a picture of the Queen knighting him on his desk). I've pulled some myself too (nothing like the army, just office-based ones). These silly things bring people together somehow.
