Huh, that's actually a pretty unique name.

What has always struck me as funny is in the depictions of Sherlock Holmes he's shown smoking a fat curvy pipe known as a calabash, however, if you actually read the series by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle he only ever smokes a humble simple cherry wood pipe. Doyle tries to portray him as a no frills kind of dude but book illustrators had other ideas. Nowadays a calabash pipe is what most people think of colloquially as a "Sherlock Holmes Pipe."
