Meet Layla, daughter of High Lenna.
Her mother was a prisoner the majority of her life, before Layla was born. Caught as a trophy to the late officer Joanna after a successful pillage in Neailhil; part of the Pharaohs grand campaign of expansion on the land.
Her mother was forced to work, but her defiance quickly got her into trouble and changed her life that day forward. Lenna caught the attention of another officer rather quickly. For a scrawny Anubian, she was able to handle herself against three of the five armed guardsman, even after suffering an injury. They made comment she wasn't whipped hard enough.
She was taken in from labor and enlisted as a slaved solider. Destined to die quicker then the rest or destined for greatness, there was no middle ground for her work. It started with small raids, then move onto an ambush, and even a large take down, but Lenna grew to be a fine warrior.
Warrior women were hard to come by with Anubians being much more rare outside of royal families. It was forbidden to wed enslaved warriors, but the Great Pharaoh Leonis wanted her by his side. The wedding was forced, but in time the two found mutual ground. Together, they lead and fought two wars and three insurgencies. On the battlefield one night they laid together, bringing forth their daughter, Layla.
Like many royal Anubian families she grew up spoiled, but with a weapon in her hands, a fire under her feet, and disciplined harshly to carry the legacy with her two younger brothers and sister whom were conceived years later. Her three siblings split off, with Layla staying by her parent's side. She was chosen to carry their will, with high hopes from her guardians.
Since becoming the heir, Layla has adapted and overcome restlessness. Sleep was no concern and food was a luxury. Business and no-nonsense she became. She still had many years before she succeeded her elders, but in her years of royalty, the people have become well adjusted under her guidance and watchful eye.
Layla has strong public relations and is often seen as fair yet brutal. Layla is quick to punish and bring justice to those guilty. Hesitance from the policing force is severely punished. Death is a rare punishment, but not out of the question.
Layla has yet to see many wars in her time, but she has served by her elders in a handful of them, taught on the fly how to engage the enemy, and how to attack. While under the watchful eyes of Lenna and Leonis, she wasn't allowed to fail, like her brothers and sister after her. As the most successful and oldest of the offspring, her siblings look up to her as much as the people. Though an adept commander, Layla refuses to stand by as a witness and instead chooses to lead her followers to glory.
Got a new character! Meet Layla. Been wanting a female character for a while and finally settled on one. Took a bit to find a name for her and the backstory was done with the help of
