"Remember, remember the Fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason
Should ever be forgot..."Somewhat of a variation of the Autumn themed pinup, this is for
and features his character Korzac watching fireworks by a bonfire in honor of Guy Fawkes Night. Ironically, this piece was actually completed on November 5th. >u< This is an example of a triptych background, and I will be opening for new commissions today when I finish uploads, so if you'd like one for yourself stick around. :D

Penny for the Guy? Unusual composition; I like what you did with the background and your treatment of the white space. Sort of a triptych, I guess.
I had completely forgotten it Guy Fawkes day; not that we have much to remind us here in the States. Of course over here, we celebrate the Fourth of July, which we regard as Independence Day, but I suppose the United Kingdom might regard it as just another form of treason...

It's probably because 5th Nov is a very regional thing based round sectarian stuff. To put it short Protestant England celebrated the foiling of a Catholic plot to assassinate the King and have him replaced with Catholic head of state. The celebration was back then was something of a middle finger to the catholics and in turn the vatican as a result. It's also worth noting on original bonfires had an effigy of the Pope on top NOT Guy Fawkes.
These days the story of the plot is remembered but the secular warfare angle is very downplayed, now it's mostly an excuse to go to a local bonfire and fireworks display, go on carnival rides and drink warm drinks and eat hot dogs and burgers. Oh and I missed out on it this year due to a combo of the 5th being on a Wednesday, and poor traffic and weather preventing me from getting to any displays at the weekend.
Korzac isn't English though he's a Lortax a xeno species. He's probably at a tribal autumn light festival with analog elements to the 5th of November (fireworks, fire, warm drinks). I picked the theme to be different from Halloween themes that are more common at this time of year.
