Anywayz, these are hopefully the final designs for Kai and Kia, each with an explanation why they look like this

At some point, Kai's older brother, Raylon dies and hands him his remaining wing and Guardian spirit, Kinabi, thus explaining his new hair style. He also has some traits taken from Kura' such as the dark highlights of his hair and red accents on his clothes. He's still the same Kai, but much wiser and stronger

The Jinniyah form of Kia will be her last form. She will be able to assume her true form for brief periods of time by opening up the eye on her ear which can only be activated by absorbing enough matter which she does by converted it into slime. Kia now adds magic to her arsenal of attacks. However, as she is a much more magically-aware being, Kia will also have much more to worry about when facing others capable of magic spells.
