This mostly started because I'm really into Magic: The Gathering. I've always thought about how my characters would be represented mechanically and how they might look in the world of MTG. And then I broke down and designed a card for Brex, and I realized that Kaz was the perfect artist for rendering Brex in this style.
So while I nerded out and got all invested in card designs and decks to build around him, he went and created this artifact-focused portrait of Brex in the MTG universe and I love it to bits.

I really can imagine this being on a MTG card. You matched the style of MTG card art very well, I think. MTG aside, this piece easily stands on its own merit too. The background is simple enough to not draw the eye away from the primary focus, yet has enough detail to not detract from the overall image. Love it.
