A scene out of the book, "The Wolf's Hour" by Robert R. McCammon, where a pack of werewolves, or lycanthropes as they refer to themselves in the book more often, attacks some soldiers who are after that little boy. The boy, Michael Gallatin, is bitten by one of the wolves in the process and when the wolves are done eating the soldiers, they go after the boy. But... the lead female of the pack intervenes, protecting Michael (at the time, Mikhail), from the pack. Eventually, he is brought into the pack since he was bitten and would soon become one of them.

Really good book... I recommend it to anyone who enjoys werewolf stories. :3
