Some of the pretty people in this room aren't so pretty when you glance under the surface, it seems.

Also: I am particularly happy with panel 2. Dancing, so elegant, so lovely. Again with the thankyous to the Corpsefairy.

Shard is the very definition of ambivalence. She can be frightening and I suspect has some ability to do harm—but why do I get the impression that she doesn’t hold a candle to some of the people she points out? She gives the impression that they can chill even her. . . .

It's true that Shard is a very powerful being in some ways, but that power is limited. We've seen that she can kill, and sometimes likes to (see "Murderer's Blood") but there are some things so much less wholesome than a simple taste for blood.
