the good news is the original harvest moon team did make another game, although Natsume won't let them use the same title

For me, no. It might be for other people, but I didn't enjoy it. If you like plants though they focused alot on crops and you essentially get to make the valley how you want it. But I prefer Story of Seasons over this.

My fiance just brought this and the cute little preorder plush home for me today.. I was so excited. I really hope they do eventually focus on animals in the game. I suck at crops. I just like to ride the horse around and collect cows...

Im not sure if they do, I know they are in the game but I only played as far as summer. But I still wasn't very far from what I gathered.

This is late, but I personally enjoyed the game myself! I wasnt into the cryptic mutation system at first but it grows on you, especially when you start terraforming your field to personalize the area. That was a big feature I loved about the game, though I will admit, there are alot of things lacking that might be easily fixed with the DLC option. That with having a member from Natsume actually being active in a community forums on Gamefaqs about the game gives promise.

Over all, I feel it was worth it, I'd probably be an expert on it by now but Pokemon Omega Ruby and such came out so I got distracted.
