And one year after Harvy to the day, is a new OC: Avery the seabird. Character received a recomplete rewrite on June 1st- all old comments are referencing the now AU Avery.

Avery's an androgynously shaped male seabird who's about 6'1-6'3" and can be any variety of weights (ref is a bare minimum, he can be a lot fatter!), but is thin most of the time. He's in his early 30's.

Avery grew up in a town in the northwest, on the interior edge of the rockies, where he lived with his mother, a stay at home mom, and his father, a land surveyor. As a kid, his Dad often brought him out hiking, camping, swimming, fishing, outdoorsy sort of activities, which were hobbies for him, but his main passion was cooking. He often cooked for himself and parents, but mostly for classmates. While he never did get into any relationships (more due to low population size- not a lot of males looking for other males), he was still very well liked by just about everyone, even if only as "that bird who brings cookies every other class" to some. Beyond highschool he moved to go to school and got a degree, and moved again to a city and opened his own business- a restaurant, which thanks to some luck and a lot of hard work became quite successful, enough so that he could hire others to reduce his significant workload.

Personality wise, Avery is confident, cheerful, driven, and outgoing. He's very lively and colorful in his actions, and is prone to getting swept away in the moment. He's also a something of a perfectionist, which while it makes him tidy and organized and always driven to improve, it also makes him easily frustrated when he sees someone "doing it wrong" or something very clearly done poorly, and he makes this frustration known (see: bottom right face on expression sheet.) With friends he is generous (especially with food, see: feeder in tags) and loyal. Though he can be elegant when he has to, his style of speech of blunt and creatively graphic, not at all what you'd expect from his appearance.

As a seabird, he has migratory instincts that kick in in the late fall and early spring, when his body thinks he should be departing and returning. While they aren't strong enough to make him get up and leave, they do make him get pretty porky when they're active-made worse by the fact that he eats when stressed-and winter is one of the busiest times of year. Thankfully though, active birds have very fast metabolisms, and though the initial working out can be tough, he quickly loses the weight and is all the way slimmed down come summer.



The old Avery is now an AU; in this AU he lives in a beach town that's also a very popular tourist destination. During the summer, he appears to be nothing out of the ordinary: he runs a shop, surfs, makes small talk, and mostly keeps to himself. What people don't realize, is that he's actually picking out a perfect victim guest to stay with him for the following seasons. Once he's made his choice, through various methods (i.e: rigged eating contest, "10000th customer", "lucky" scratch ticket, etc.) they'll find themself given a 9 month, all expenses covered stay at the beach. What they don't know, is that this stay is in Avery's living quarters on the second floor of his shop. Locked in. And the meals provided are not optional. Nine months and enough forcefeeding by and weight gain alongside the bird (and blackmail, gotta cover his own hide!) to last a lifetime come and go, and Avery kicks them out (jiggling) and makes room for the next one.
