what kind of camera are ya usin?

it's an old Olympus E-P2 with a very simple 14-42mm lens :]
It's a bit humble for macro photography, but it does what I want it to do much better than my phone camera ever could! So I love it XD

cool ^-^ It seems better than my Canon powershot xD then again i suck at using the features on it and such xD
So i feel like i could do better (not than you x3 i just mean take better pics compaired to the pics i take xD) if i actually went through and figured out what all it can do x3

yeah, I've been reading up on how to use this little machine. All of my shots are taken with manually selected ISO, aperture, and shutter speed settings. I don't rely on any auto settings @ u@ because they never do what I want them to do...

Having the camera set between manual, aperture priority, or shutter priority, and manually fussing about the settings, tends to produce more controlled results, I think.

But I'm still a total neophyte. I literally just started doing this like...two days ago hahaha!

I've always wandered what were the spikes for under their hands.

they serve the same purpose as the spikes around the mouth of a venus fly-trap! :D They're to lock prey items in. With those little barbs, no flies can escape!

So..if i give it some of my nachos will it take the whole bowl and never let go D : ? ? ?? MY NACHOS WONT ESCAPE LONG DEATH DX (jk) But wow thats interesting information, kinda makes me wanna have one too : )... they're not agressive are they at times?

nah, never. Just don't wiggle your finger infront of them when they're in the middle of stalking prey, and they'll generally be very sweet to you! ;D

Nice : ) its just that ive been afraid of most insects most of my life but i see a lot of people who own these type of bugs and usually take good care of them. I just had a bad run as a child since a wasp hopped on my face at an early age. But Mantis's seems docile and very cool. so im jsut trying get through my fears of things that aren't actually harmful : /
