First of all, if you're thinking "The layout kind of looks like Police Team Kazuo", yeah, it does. If you're not...you should probably take a look at Police Team Kazuo.
Anyways, this is a sort of "proof of concept" for my pixel art comic idea, entitled "Foxtrot Alpha" (with apologies to Bill Amend). Think "Cowboy Bebop with furries", and you're on a pretty good track towards what the setting is like.
The story follows a slowly growing team of bounty hunters, who are all 'Fusions', a by-product of a freak hypergate accident which made a genetic slurry out of the Western Hemisphere. They tackle progressively more and more dangerous bounties, facing demons from their past, criminal kingpins, extremist movement leaders, terrorists, and other dangerous targets.
After 'The Fusion', the geopolitical climate of the world is thrown into turmoil and criminal activity expands, especially with recent spaceward expansion. The bounty system, initiated only a few years prior, explodes in activity and becomes a viable source of income, if one is crazy or desperate enough to do so. Fusions often fit right into that category, assuming they haven't gone insane and find themselves in the bounty system. Sometimes, it takes an animal to catch one.
All are in the group for different reasons, have different backgrounds, different motivations, even different moral compasses. They are part of a profession that helps hold civilization together...if they can hold themselves together.
The first 'episode' (third of an issue) coming if I can garner interest, followed by some sort of crowdfunding effort. I actually want to make this into a comic book, if I can. Yeah, it's a pixel art comic, but dammit, that's what I'm good at.
I'll probably upload the characters and the background as separate pictures, too (the background isn't the full background, only a condensed one).
While the teaser is for general audiences, the comic itself will probably contain blood and other catastrophic injury, violence, foul language, and suggested/implied explicit things. But if you expected any different from a comic that delves into the criminal underworld, you may be out of your mind.

Hah...can't help ya there. Don't think I used Geneva anywhere in this. That font never really fit into anything I was doing here! Trying to anti-alias the vector font just looks ugly, you'd probably have to run a Mac emulator and rip the letters directly from the original bitmap font or something.
