This is a dragon species from the book I'm writing, Reign of Ice.

Sidonie and I can't thank her enough for doing this full illustration for me! It's so beautiful!
This is a Kuldar also known as an ice dragon. They rule over the land of Yulda in the north below the arctic circle. While they live primarily in the mountain range that crosses Yulda they can also be seen throughout the territory. They are ruled by a king and queen who work together to ensure peace for all beasts in the land. However for millenia they have worked most closely with the wolves.
Instead of scales their bodies are covered in ridges that form ice on them. This can either happen normally due to the weather or a Kuldar can call upon the power of ice to cover its body in sharp spikes of ice armor in order to protect or attack others in battle. Ice and frost is a potent weapon for them and their icy breath is not to be underestimated nor the spikes of ice they can create and fire at will.
Kuldar believe in harmony between the royal dragon class, being themselves, and the citizens who live under their rulership. They prefer to work together with others and come to a decision together.
But make no mistake. A Kuldar is still just like any dragon and that means they can be supremely jealous and protective. Rouse its anger and they will not hesitate to tear you to pieces or leave you entombed in ice.
