Mountainstones often find their way into roles as familiars due to their earth magics and powers of disguise/concealment. They are very shy and usually wild, although they can be tamed with a great deal of patience and effort. They are extremely loyal and will fight fiercely for those they consider family, or to protect their freedom. So they often have chipped horns, torn wings, etc. However their fur stays extremely fluffy, thick, and soft unless they get sick or are severely depressed.
