I haven't established a "canon" height range for them because I'd like to encourage people to use artistic license - I do myself if it works best for the image or story. But I tend to imagine them on average anywhere from 1'-2'. Think Narnia animals - bigger than the real species but still not comparable to the height of your average human. Their size is more apparent when they appear with human-sized characters; in their own world, everything is scaled closer to them (example: the trees here would be small in our world, like bonsai).
