I do hope they survive. They're interesting characters and I'd like to see them in more comics.

No, I think it's a type of glasses. From the 30's or 50's america or something, popular in factory workers. Or was it blueprint draftsmen? But it's the ones with thick lenses and thick black frames that keep getting used by movies. Anyway I thought it visually interesting that the bar kept getting used as eyebrows.

Still predicting the big reveal will be in four pages.

In Other Xmas News:

The RiffTrax crew just announced that their next riff (after ANACONDA on the 30 October) will be the 1959 epic, SANTA CLAUS on 4 December.

I remember seeing this film (on a re-release) in the theaters when I was a kid. Creepy Santa, his all-seeing eye (that looked an awful lot like the Martian death ray from George Pal's WAR OF THE WORLDS), the Devil himself, and those hideous, cackling mechanical reindeer... Yeah, I now realize just how deeply traumatizing that experience was.

Yep -- they sometimes "re-riff" films they've already done. I mean, there's so much material in a film like this! :)
