Merely minutes ago, my friends had been right next to me. Now, the last shades of them, running miles in front of me, had vanished. I was alone.
It had been a nice and sunny day, just one that I enjoyed with the people I cared about. The field seemed endless, however the sunny weather wasn't. In the far distance, clouds had shown up. No one had paid any attention to them, until someone suddenly noticed that they were approaching fast. Darkening as they did. The setting changed from bright to dark, unnervingly dark. I don't even remember if someone said "Run."
It wasn't needed either way.
Everyone ran, speeding away as hard as they could. And so did I. Except my top speed couldn't reach half of any of theirs. It didn't take a whole minute for me to fall far behind. I would've cried for help, but the rumbling thunder and the howling wind muted whatever sound came from me. And then everyone disappeared out of sight, and I was on my own.
The wind became stronger, the sky was lit up for one short terrifying moment. And I knew no one would rescue me here.
