Fox would never commit genocide, no. Allthough she's not entirely adverse to killing in self defense it's considered a last resort.

Punishment, no, penance, yes. Which is more meaningful a gesture. If you kill a Thurvine in the feild for example if its body can be recovered reparations are asked of it's killer be it a proper burial or some sort of apology to the Darnathi. It doesn't matter if they care about the death or not. It's to remind you that life has value and even if the people who are sending them out don't value thier lives. It means something if someone does.

As one of Fox's livestream mods, I actually have to thank you for being gracious when corrected. So many people get defensive or (as you can see) condescending when asked to stop. It's good to see someone take correction without letting it get personal. Thank you for being reasonable.

This is the second bad additude ban we've had in a week. It wasn't the roleplay that was the problem, but the condescending backtalk and justification, especially when you consider the comment history of the offender. Everyone is expected to behave like adults here. Anyone who has followed Fox long enough knows she has a certain standard of behavior. Some people juste ought to know better.

Is the Overlord short? She always seems to be in relation to other people in the comic.

She's Short but definately not the shortest cast member. She's 5'5'' it's just that she's dwarfed by the very tall Darius whose 6'5'' The shortest cast members are Artemis and Sunny actually.

Would Fox ever allow members of the Lair to try replicating or studying Xander once she found out what he was and who made him? or would his creation method be consigned to the same as Dire making?

No, she'd probably treat him similarly to how she treats Artemis in that respect. A life that's not to be trifled with or studied without his expressed permission. (and Fen's) As a minion Fox would see Xander as part of her organization but as a person, he belongs to Fen so in a professional envrionment we don't exactly go around disecting our engineers and his body mind and soul (And heart i'm sure) is spoken for by Fenriria which Fox would never dare cross even on a good day.

Thier ancestors were made by "The creator" along with everyone else on the island. The way genetics work on the island is you can mate with any other sentient animal on the island but hybrids are very rare. A Tiger and a Fox for example will have Tiger or Fox children, not Tigerfox children. only one in about five hundred children are sucessful 50/50 hybrids. (more common is the 75/25 ratio were in the case of a tiger fox pairing, the Fox may have faint stripes on it's back or eye spots on thier ears, or the tiger may have reddish stripes and darkened "socks" around it's paws.) In essence if a more common hyrbridzation does occur (1 in 100 chance) its usually only fur-deep.

This essentially allows for species to persist for thousands of years without insane hybridization. It also happens that a couple can give birth to a completely different species. For example a cat and a Corgi gives birth to a tiger or a hyena thanks to latent species Genes that just happened to come together through recessive traits. (despite experts expressing this can indeed happen, it's been the cause of a handful of divorces because the father refused to beleive the kid is his)

I think the word your looking for is quadroped in which case probably not unless somewhere in his genetic pool his ancestors mated with a feral. Not exactly a recommended pairing since there's a bit of a stigma there

What kind of educational opportunities are there? I kind of just made up the Aukate university, but I'd imagine it wouldn't be the only one (probably the most prestigious though).

There are places that are less... civilized than others but it's not as primitive as one might think. The level of these "tribes" is what I would envision is a Polynesian Village like what you see in Hawaii (you can find some examples of this online) But they still would probably have access to basic technology. Only rather poor villages may not and Fox is working on helping impoverished towns get up to date. Cities do happen but they're not quite the metropolises humans have grown used to, While we would think of Chicago or columbus or new york as a city, to the citizens of the Callander islands LArge-ish market places with stalls and vendors everywhere and maybe a large village/town with a dozen or so store fronts, theatres etc would be considered a "city"

There's a school house in every town and an academy in every "city" Which would offer something more college-level in education.
Children start going to school at the age of four to learn socialzation and in some more urban settings "instinct supression" Which instills that you don't growl at people, or bare your teeth in a threat gesture. These programs are only 7 years old so some of the older generations would probably still be instinct heavy. Also some of these education programs just don't work for people who are naturally instinct heavy.

Once your first character is out of boot camp we can talk about your second character, the bar tender. I'm not adverse to giving you leeway but I do have veto power in case I feel something might be over the top. If you're iffy about anything you can always ask.

So something like the town I live in IRL is probably a decent sized city to the islandgoers...

As far as my second character if approved I definitely plan on asking before doing anything further than general after-hours meet-and-chat in-character threads, mostly I was just wondering since I was considering linking a song or two to represent the kind of music playing that shift, but if she has no control over that it wouldn't make much sense to 'play' music she prefers :P

It's located on the outside of the mountain but apart of the mountain so you can get to it from inside the lair or the outside. It's located in the northwest corner of the mountain and has a bit of a "tiki bar" front door (re:maragritaville: made out of bamboo but the interior is half constructed and half carved out of the mountainside.

Slightly different question this time. What would Fox's reaction be to finding a human on the islands? I know the President is sending soldiers to deal with titan but what would her response to a human that crashed/shipwrecked/telaported on the islands be? I imagine it would be hilarious.

No I'm not suggesting anything at all I just wanted to know what her response would be.

She would calmly regret to inform them they cannot leave, and if they had family arrange for them to be sent there, if it was possible and if the individual wanted it. The secret of a island chain inhavbited almost entirely by animals is one that, in her opinion, needs to be kept secret for the time being. This is one of the agreements she has with the US government, so long as the human and thier family is not harmed, the security of her nation is paramount.

Would the overlord find a way to deal with really lame puns?

I've heard that in the overlord-verse that furry characters are found on the island. Just how big is the island, how many people could it possibly sustain, what limitations of species are there, and are furries found in other parts of the world?

Actually it's an island chain of twelve large islands about the size of the large island of hawaii each, and just about as sustainable. I beleive when we crunched the numbers roughly 100,000 people live on each island.

I wouldn't quite use the term "furries" simply because thats more of a fandom thing and the dragons and lizards and birds tend to get insulted by that term if it were ever used :p But no there are no other anthro-animals living anywhere else on earth, just in the Calendar Island Chain.

The Calendar Islands are so called because the names of the Islands Translate from Maori into months of the year. With Isla Aukate being "August island"

also as far as limitations of speices, There really isn't any. Just nothing inherently magical is allowed to be played in the roleplay setting. For example you could be a unicorn, but it can't perform magic. There's a biological reason a dragon can breath fire but only if their diet allows for it.

the cannon fodder/breeding stock critter is a creature that a new character of mine would attract. the sirenidae, or whatever could come to him for protection, but only because heis arrival is peaceful. If you're interested, try joining our roleplay forums and participating in the community. Although keep in mind that due to being burned in the past, I have creative control over things. I still will sometimes give roles and cameos to characters that impress me in roleplay. We have a lot of storylines in the queue so fitting in side stories and cameos has to be planned pretty thoroughly.

Suggestion from a fellow reader: Start from the beginning, or you may never find your way in this complex storyline! Just start and go, and don't stop, or maybe when you have to shutdown each time, Fave the one you're on and then you wont lose your place when say... someone hops on your computer and erases the history in a certain comic-browsing browser.

alas no, the best way is to read the comic.

I've done that, and there are still moments where I find myself feeling a bit lost; where I wonder exactly how the story started or where certain characters came into play/why they did so...

Keeping a summary up to date is next to impossible with the rest of what I do unfortunately. In the Overlord Universe, are their games of sport?

After all, the Human's seem to have many types of sport, or physical activities that entertain them.

They do but most of them are spinoffs and heavily modified games of human (and heavily influenced polynesian) games. flying species would have a flying sport, aquatic species would have some interesting sports perfectly equipped to have gills or flippers etc and so on.

I have a general idea about the sizes of the Sirenidae and Thurvines, but do you have an exact size range for them? Like, a sirenidae is around 1 meter long, give or take, A thurvine about a meter and a half (4.5 to 5 feet) at the shoulder and two meters long plus their tail. (4-legged, correct?) Or am I out of the ball park completely, lol?

Thurvines have very long tails that skew the results a bit so more like 3-4 meters long. about 4 feet tall at the shoulder, sometimes larger if they're allowed to grow that big. Most thurvines, like alligators usually only get to be a certain size before they're culled in battle. Like their lifespans their maximum size is unknown as they've not been able to reach their peak maximum lifespan nor maximum size due to their use in the field as expendable soldiers.

For Sirenidae they're usualy about five inches across when they're first hatched and grow rapidly at first and then thier growing slows over the course of thier life. young ones usually are no longer than two feet long while mature/adult sirenidae are about three feet. Supposedly able to get up to 5-6 feet long but most adverage at about 4 at thier oldest.

Not as such no, we've installed vents for magma shifts and gas preassure so it doesn't shift. The volcano itself is very much extinct though magma does flow freely in rivers if you go down far enough just not enough to really build any pressure.
