I meant to put this up BEFORE I posted the other piece, but I was on the wrong computer at the time.
Now everyone can see the changes and improvements over the years. I purposefully kept the background as close as I could to the original so it would really look like just an update to an old piece.
It's always fun to see where things have changed over the years with old artwork, I have a whole archive of old work since I was a child. The things I used to draw compared to now are astounding.

There are so many things that I like on each one over the other. Both perfectly wonderful in their own way. Honestly, I would more believe that they are related, rather than the same character. Like perhaps older and younger brothers, four years difference, picture taken of the younger one in the exact same place and approximate age as the older, as if a family tradition at that age. The older one seems a more chilled-out sort, not really the type to go all party-animal but still enjoys a fun, social time. Unlike the new version, who looks like he's ready to get wild after that quality drink he just got... ;)
