Alternative Title: A Portrait of a Cheetah With Too Much on His Mind
But I'm pretty sure that would have been obnoxiously long of a title, so I kept it short.
I'm pretty sure LittleFreckles is the artist I've commissioned the most at this point. With this portrait, the total comes up to 4, I do believe. And I just commissioned her again yesterday, so that total will soon be 5. I'm not one to have a "go to" artist for any sort of commission idea I have, now that I think about it. I tend to try as many artists as I can, judging from the variety of names on the queue of remaining commissions to post.
But sometimes, an artist is just so awesome, or their style is so good, or I just have a brilliant idea for them, that I just have to commission them again. I have to say, LittleFreckles is just one of those artists. She's got a unique style that I love. Plus, she's a very friendly person, so go like her art and say hi.
Also, thinking about it, though I've commissioned Freckles 4 (or 5) times, I don't think any two are the same sort of style of commission. One is a simple bust commission, the next was a pinup, the next was a full body sort of desktop wallpaper commission, and this is a black and white portrait.
Speaking of which, I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned my love of greyscale images. Or have I? Maybe I have. I forget. But I do. They've got a very, I don't want to say seriousness, but a dramatic...ness to it. Or at least the potential for it. An image saturated with color tends to be lively, but that doesn't mean you can't have a quiet, poignant moment in an amazing technicolor dreamscape. Similarly, you can have a fun and happy black and white image.
But I decided to go for something quiet with this one. Why? I just don't have too many images of Skips being quiet or contemplative. I mean, plenty of him being relaxed or happy or some such like that. But not too many of him just, well, not being that. It's a state of mind I'm in frequently. I'm not a very...talkative person in real life. And as of late, I've certainly been one to just think because I've got too much on my mind. School or work or the future or how to just stay positive in general. So, I wanted a picture of Skips that was similar. Funny how I got this picture like 4 months ago, but it's still relevant to me now. I should sort my commissions by mood and set my Skype profile picture to one depending on the mood I'm in. This one definitely fits the mood of: "sad, but not the sad kind of sad, and more like the 'I'm just down because I'm thinking things like that' sort of sad, you know, contemplative, or...you know what I just don't feel very talkative at the moment. Let's just say it's that kind of sad."
So yeah, a portrait of a cheetah with too much on his mind. Definitely a descriptive title. Big thanks to LittleFreckles for being awesome and making this. You're awesome.
