Not *exactly* what I was referring to with the previous post, but here's something I thought people might like. Still working out the details and getting a regular style for these down, but for the first prototypes, here's
miupix's Peaches and Cream. Sculpey III, plastic beads, hematite 'eyes,' and wire. These are NOT painted, no varnish currently on either. To get an idea of size, Cream's name hanger is about 1.5" wide.
Once I get the details nailed down (for example, between the two styles, Cream's name-under-head style works better, so Peaches's name-above-head style will not be continued), custom headbadges will probably be $40-45 (shipping included). Does anyone want to volunteer to be another test prototype at $30? If I get more volunteers than I can take right now, I'll just pick lottery-style.
EDIT: Don't leave comments like "I can't afford this but I want one." Seriously. What does that even mean? :/

Well, I mean, why bring it up at all? I've seen too many people do it as a ploy to get things for cheap, or even for free. And it was so predictable that it was the first comment on my picture that I wasn't even surprised by it. I'm not offended, just confused. I'd only BE offended if it turned into a 'won't you do one for free' sort of thing. ;p
...well... no that's not it at all... actually I just wrote this in my distress before I read this reply, read it if you would, to understand my intention... but I feel somewhat offended by this.

You brought it up with the asking for volunteers, I simply stated that I love it enough that I would pay for it, and gave a reason why I can't. I'd think anyone would be complimented by that, I never once asked for a freebie... so I just don't feel good right now, y'know?

I thank people who compliment my art all the time. I don't demand that people buy it.
In fact, I don't usually even offer anything for sale online outside of Etsy and eBay, so no, the money is not the issue here.
However, when a person says "hey, I'm auctioning something"/"hey, I'm trying out something to sell"/"hey, who would like to buy a ___" and the very first response is "wow, I wish I could afford that but I can't," it is a very confusing statement. It's like when someone says "does anyone have an answer to X question?" and the first response is "no, I wish I did." ???
I understand that you specifically weren't trying to plead price woes, but it happens on a LOT of posts about commissions and other selling-things posts that don't have a disclaimer on it. Not just mine. Been doing stuff like this for nearly a decade now. And to me, I just don't give a compliment with a complaint tacked on it. In the end it just ends up confusing people as to what your intentions are or what you mean.
Lastly, nobody's making fun of you(?). The kind of people to make fun of are the people (I've never met before) who ask me to give them sterling silver pendants for free, for no reason. x_X

As much as I hate to butt in I hardly think her reply called for you to write a long journal rallying up points for how 'mean' she was to you and how unprofessional the comment was. I think this could have easily been talked out without writing journal flack. And even if it wasn't meant as 'flack' that's what it came off as. Pot calls kettle black. :\
The downside of the internet is people are going to be mean and or things (such as this) are going to be misread and there will be misunderstandings. I think it's safe to say writing a journal about every little moment and person that offends you one second instead of just walking away isn't the mature response to a situation like this which isn't bad at all. Not trying to be rude just my two cents. Trying to give someone a bad reputation before finding out what they actually meant by a comment and trying to see things from each other's POV is a lot more rude and unprofessional than what ponygirl said to you and what you interpreted back. Just some friendly advice for next time :>

Yes, there's a wire loop embedded in her head. The wire inside her is actually sort of like a coat hanger, where the bottom part holding her name beads is the bottom of the 'hanger' and the top makes the loop for the chain; it's all one piece so it won't pull out, short of completely breaking the piece apart. Maybe I should post a photo of the back?
You can put it on your own chain, string, or whatever you feel like, it's like a pendant. I do have a few more of those satin cords (black or purple) if people want those, but I don't really have other cords outside that. I'm thinking on maybe some hemp or leather cords as well, but I figure a lot of people might want to just use their own stuff.

XFD, those comments are quizzical to me. Peaches is my favourite one I think, mainly because of how you did the stripe down her face, and she's got an adorable little muzzle.
What's this prototype thing aboot? I'd gladly pay to see you do something with either Mint or Woo's face:

I'm using the first few commissions to decide how to format these badges (thick, thin, big, tiny, how to bend the wire to attach the name beads), so they're like test runs. :) They may not all end up looking the same, as a result. My paypal addy is ponygirl@studiocute.com, I'm up for doing whichever you want to pick. ^_^
