These guys would probably be playable - as I mentioned before, I believe the system is set up to allow monsters to fairly easily be adapted into PCs.
Heh, it's because we haven't done the races yet :) As of now, there are 9-10 races in the works - one is the Dengu (following popularity with play testers), another is human, another is plant, and the rest are creature/beast-races, as it stands.

Sounds good to me, and I hope to see them soon!
I guess it makes sense that there will be some furry-like races, since these are posted to FurAffinity and all.
Still, I do like that there will be variety despite all that, and it is great to see a roleplaying game that doesn't resort to Tolkien for all its fantasy race needs.
Not that there's anything wrong with Tolkien, of course, but it's just good to see something different now and then.

We may be doing some work on the races next month, rather than another block of creatures, although I might not have anything to post, depending. Not sure, could just be a bunch of conceptual sketches rather than finished illustrations.
Heh, well, I'm posting the game art over on deviantArt as well. It's mostly that the project leaders were, as you were saying, wanting to avoid the usual fantasy tropes (orc, elf, dwarf, halfing, gnome, goblin...) for player races, and felt appealing to the furry fandom would not be a bad idea. We're still working on balancing "non-furry fantasy-fan appeal" with "non-fantasy-trope furry appeal", though, which will hopefully be settled with we get the race designs nailed down.

I'd say that having maybe one or two carnivorous mammal "furry" race(such as werewolves, or cat-people, or whatever), one herbivorous one(probably go for "cute," but not to such an extent that nobody plays them), a lizard/dragon-like one, and possibly an avian one.
Then, make the rest of the races non-furry-like fantasy creatures, plus humans of course(unless it would be more interesting with fantasy races only).
That way, the furries are happy but the non-furries have plenty of playable races too.
It would also help to make the "animal" races seem a bit less "human" than furries normally are, to seem less stereotypical.
That's just my advice, though. Do whatever you and the project designers think would work best.

*nods* I definitely have my opinions on how they should go, and they more or less line up with what you're suggesting - enough "furry" races to cover a few major tropes, but some non-furry races to appeal to, well, non-furries :b with each race filling a unique "style" or "feel." That is, if they're all just animal-people with the same people-shaped build, that's boring and there's no point if you're just "reskinning" humans!
But yeah, I don't necessarily have a lot of say in the final design - I draw stuff and suggest ideas, but the leaders and directors are the ones saying what to do and what to go with in the end.

Thanks a lot :) I know a lot of people nowadays go with the reptilian look, so it was sort of nice to do something a bit different! I had originally intended to have them look a bit more "rat-dog" than as rattish as he came out, but people seem to feel it works, so that's okay then :b
Good to know! I would also implement the same policy I have with bears and mountain lions: travel in groups and with ranged weapons. You don't have to outrun the beasts, just your traveling companions! And if you're the slowest one, make use of the ranged weapon on a companion's knee cap >_>
And now I'm sad because I just remembered nobody goes hiking with me anymore. Not since Steve...
