궁궐의 분위기가 압도적이군요. 정말 마음에 듭니다. 중국의 궁궐은 위엄으로서 사람을 뭐랄까, 짓누르는 느낌이 강하다고 해야 하나요;; 너무 규모가 방대해서 오히려 위축되는 것 같더랍니다. 심지어 여기서는 황제조차...게다가 여기서는 정전의 지붕이 세 겹으로 놓였으니, 자금성 태화전도 2층인데 그것보다도 더 대규모일 테죠. 그나저나, 성안제는 예전 설정에서는 열 여덟살 이었던 거로 기억하는데, 나이대를 더 어리게 수정하신 거네요?

예, 설정은 자주 왔다 갔다 합니다. 예전 설정 중 개연성이 없거나 마음에 안드는게 한두가지가 아니더군요.

저도 설정을 완전 뒤엎은 게 세 번이나 됩니다. 개연성 있으면서도 너무 매너리즘에 빠지지 않도록 짜는 게 너무 어려워요 ㅠ

그러게 말입니다. 설정을 짜는 것도 역시 많이 알아야 말이 되게 짤 수 있을텐데, 인터넷에서 얻는 정보는 단편적이고 역시 책을 더 많이 읽어야 하는 것 같습니다. 그런데 근 2년간 책을 구할 길이 없었으니;;; 책을 안읽으니 머리도 굳는 것 같습니다;;

Impressive! I really like the composition here - it perfectly reflects your theme! I certainly like how much this appears like the Forbidden Palace - the entire spectacle of the seat of power really does appear to weigh heavily on him!

Thank you. I did reference the Forbidden Palace while drawing this, as the Hui Empire is actually more of a fantasy counterpart of Ming dynasty. And after all, most, if not all, nations that chose Confucianism as their state ideology built their palaces according to the plan suggested by The Rites of Zhou (周禮, Zhouli), and thus had similar basic appearance.

You're welcome! On a side note, I really do think your art's synthesis of anthropomorphic elements and eastern culture is something special, and to my knowledge, not one widely seen in a fandom that I believe is very west-centric, if not mostly American. Anyway, from my woeful knowledge of Asian history that does strike a bell on the matter of Confucianism. I'll certainly look into The Rites of Zhou if I can find an authentic translation in English!
