Yep, I do love me some blob vore, don't I? xD This one is a little different. While I have messed with transparency before when dealing with Rick and his semi-sentient bubble trap,
Min had wondered if I would ever consider adding some transparency to my blob creations. Well, this is a product of that inquiry! The blob isn't completely see-through, but the parts that are closer to the viewer can be more easily seen. It was fun to apply the transparency to a blob piece! Hopefully it looks good to you all! Enjoy!

Basically, I color and shade the victim and blob separately, making sure the victim's layer is on top. At this point, there's nothing transparent about any of it. I then add a layer on top of everything and airbrush the details over the victim, which makes it look like they're trapped inside. This may not be the best way to do it, but it's the way I use. I hope that helps!
Ooo, that translucency makes this blob so awesome (and desirable ;)).
I love the thick, oozing, sliminess to the blob that you captured here, and seeing the prey inside gives it a true sense of bulk and mass.
I do love how you portrayed that thickness by varying the translucency, based on how much of the blob's mass was between the prey and the outside.
Wonderful job with this. :)

Thank you so much for the kind words! I tried to make sure I paid that kind of attention to detail this time, instead of just making a thick, opaque pile that's easy to get lost in. This way, you get to see the victim's fear! I'm glad to hear that my work conveyed what I wanted! <3
And I'm sure it would love to snuggle with you! By the way, I saw something at work the other day that reminded me of you. While going through the trees that needed to be pitched, I came across one that had a glob of sap that looked like it had formed a pretty thick bubble on the trunk. Immediately I thought of your bubble trap ideas and thought, "Hmmm, I know someone who might take an interest in that." xD
