This was an anonymous commission featuring and ooh and a weird little squirrel girl. Its their birfday tomoro but wanted to post it now so that I dont forget as i'm out 2moro.

I should point out before you read the story that I ACTUALLY really have to make a cake on sunday to take to work on monday. Perhaps I should take lessons from Gem.

Gem had spent all morning in the back garden working harder than she ever had in the whole of her life. She knew it was zeezees birfday which was a really important day and she wanted to make him a cake as she had heard from her mummy that on birthdays everyone gets cake. The only problem was Gem had no idea what went into a cake or how to actually make one.

She knew it had to be made of special things because it was a special day so she decided to collect all the things that were special to her and make them into a cake.
First went Grub for he was the super most specialist thing in her whole life other than mummy daddy and zeezee of course, then she found her favourite pacifier AND her favourite chew block. She also had half a cookie she had hidden in her pocket. She knew the cake had to look pretty so she pulled up some of mummys garden plants and yanked some leaves off nearby bushes as she'd seen people sprinkle green things on cooking before. Luckily for her she found some worms and woodlice to spinkle into the large mudpie. Her cooking was going well.

"Hey Gem. Whatcha doin?"

Gem jumped with a surprised squeak, her brother stood behind her peering curiously over her shoulder, she spun round, tripping over her tail and landing in a heap on the floor. She saw her other friends behind him and she grinned and waved at Drake and Blu. They waved back curiously at the mud covered and twig ridden baby squirrel

"I was makin' a cake for yoo zeezee cause its yoor birfday dontcha know"
Gem giggled and pointed over at the mess she had concocted as a small slightly squished woodlouse crawled from the atrocity
"Its our birfday too Gem" Blu pointed between himself and Drake. "Its all our birfdays togetha!"
Gem squealed in delight.
"Is it my birfday too?" She was confused now, she thought it was only allowed to be one persons birthday at a time, but they shook their head. "Nope its not your bithday silly, just ours"
Gems ears drooped but promptly picked right back up when she remembered what she had been doing.

"Then yoo all hafta eat it!" She gestured excitedly to her creation her eyes positivly glowing with pride in herself for having made it all by herself.

"E...e..eat it?" drake gulped and clung to Blu as Gem nodded eagerly.

"Yep, its cake dontcha know, you hafta eat birfday cake. Its the law" She puffed out her chest showing that she knew what she was talking about. Zeezee picked up a stick and poked the 'cake' feeling a tad worried that maybe having a birthday today wasnt a good thing after all.
