Well, this is how I spent most of my Columbus Day this year ... drawing and painting some pictures like this one for several hours straight with sometimes the TV turned on.
I couldn't think of a better name for this cat other than Molly Maria, since I haven't had much sleep. She's a 13th Century European-type sea-traveling explorer similar to Marco Polo and Christopher Columbus, save that she's female and a cat. I thought it was neat to have her wear a necklace that had a direction compass like the one seen in print maps and the like.
I didn't have enough nerve to fill the image of the picture all down to the bottom so I left it blank with an uplifting sort of slogan to capture the feel of the picture. I had to do my best to get the Medieval script right, with the "W" in "unknown" being one of the toughtest parts.
